When intuition knocked at my door
The first time I really felt there was something more than logic was in 2016, in Amsterdam.
I was going through a burnout and I started looking for help. I had resigned from my job with no actual plan and started a mentorship with Erica. I had zero energy, but at the same time, I knew I had to keep going. I took everything one day at a time because I had no idea what was going on. And then, some things started to happen that felt like magic.
I started working with oracle cards. One card a day, every morning. I began to notice that the cards were matching exactly what I was going through, day after day. It was too close to be a coincidence. The day I resigned from my job, I got the Tower; that was too much for my logical mind to dismiss as luck.
So, I started to pay attention.
I decided to leave Amsterdam for a few months. I found a 300 euros flight to Chile and booked it. With no plan and no winter jacket in my closet, but lots of hope. As I was doing it, I started to notice signs everywhere, telling me what to do next.
I was interviewing people to replace me at work. One person had lived in a community in Chile for several years—exactly where I was going. Another woman had left her corporate job to work in the Maldives. I met a man on a flight from Japan who told me about workaway. I started to realize: follow the signs. Trust, even when it makes no sense. Follow them and you will arrive at the right place.
And it did guide me to the right place.
From Amsterdam, I moved to Chile—to a workaway community in the Patagonian forest that changed the way I understood nature. Then to Argentina. Then back to Barcelona. Then to Zurich. None of it followed a logical plan. All of it followed something else.
Here is what I understood during that time: Following my logical mind is often following my fears. Through my intuition, I was following my heart, what I knew was needed for me. Fear can't live in the heart space.
Intuition doesn’t tell you what to follow, it tells you what you already know, beyond the fears and what your logic thinks is possible.
